Photography sells a date and a deliverable at the same time, and the two are paid for differently.
A shoot date can only be sold once, so a retainer holds it and the balance falls before delivery rather than after. The templates below are built on the two numbers a client is really choosing between, hours and output, with edited image counts stated as minimums rather than promises of an exact number. Delivery is given as a range of weeks, because a single promised date in a busy season is a complaint waiting to happen.
