Brand Photography Proposal Template

In SendScope under Photography, as Brand Photography

Brand photography is content, and content runs out. That is the commercial fact these packages are built on: the quarterly tier is not simply a bigger shoot, it is the beginning of a different relationship, and it is the one worth selling hardest.

The two smaller tiers are priced on session length and edited image count, which is how a business compares photographers. The quarterly package is priced on what it replaces, which is a year of scrambling for something to post.

Usage rights appear only in the top tier and are worth lifting into all three. A company putting your photographs on a billboard is doing something materially different from one putting them on a feed, and your terms are where that distinction has to live rather than in an email nobody can find later.

The page your client opens

Not a screenshot. This is the real client page running on an invented deal. Pick a package and press approve to see what your client would see; nothing is sent or charged.

How it gets paid

Deposit, then balance

50% is due when the client approves, and the balance when you mark the work delivered. Both payments happen on the same link the proposal is on.

Card or bank transfer, and you choose which per deal. If you want a package to bill every month instead of once, you set that on the package itself when you build the deal, and the client can cancel it from their own link.

Prices are a starting point in Australian dollars. Change the figures, the inclusions and the number of packages to suit what you sell.

The starting terms

What approving the page records

These sit above the approve button. The client reads them, and approving records that they accepted them.

These terms cover the booking you approve on this page.

  • The booking. The deposit shown on this page holds your date and is not refunded if you cancel, because the date is then held for you and turned away from others.
  • Payment. The balance is paid before the edited images are delivered.
  • What you receive. The hours of coverage and the number of edited images are those described above. Images are edited in my own style. Unedited or RAW files are not included.
  • Use of the images. You may use the delivered images for the purpose described above. Commercial use beyond that, including advertising, is quoted separately. I keep copyright and the right to show the work in my portfolio, and will not do so if you ask me in writing not to.
  • If plans change. Tell me as early as you can. A date can be moved once, subject to availability, and the deposit moves with it.
  • If I cannot attend. If illness or an emergency prevents me attending, I will arrange a replacement photographer where I can, and if that is not possible everything you have paid is refunded.
  • On the day. Safe access to the location and the time listed above are needed for the coverage quoted.

Approving this page records that you accepted this scope, this price and these terms.

Starting terms, not legal advice. Read them, change what does not match how you work, and have a lawyer look at them if the work is large enough to warrant it. Your own default terms in Settings replace these automatically.

Before you send it

What to change first

The parts of this template most likely to be wrong for you.

  • Usage rights, which the two smaller packages here leave unstated
  • Whether hair, makeup and styling are coordinated by you or by the client
  • Location fees and permits, which brand shoots run into far more than portraits do
  • How long you archive the files, because somebody will ask two years later
