UI and UX Design Proposal Template

In SendScope under Design, as UI/UX Design

Product design is quoted in screens and delivered in decisions. The screen count is a proxy and everybody involved knows it is a proxy, but it is the only unit a client can hold in their head while comparing two quotes.

So these packages state it plainly: ten screens of wireframes, twenty of finished interface, then a component library. The jump worth explaining is the last one, because a design system is not a larger deliverable. It is a different product, bought by a team that will keep building after you have gone.

Research sits in the middle tier and above. Leaving it out of the smallest is deliberate and honest: a client buying wireframes alone is usually validating an idea they already hold, and charging them for research they will not read helps nobody.

The page your client opens

Not a screenshot. This is the real client page running on an invented deal. Pick a package and press approve to see what your client would see; nothing is sent or charged.

How it gets paid

Deposit, then balance

40% is due when the client approves, and the balance when you mark the work delivered. Both payments happen on the same link the proposal is on.

Card or bank transfer, and you choose which per deal. If you want a package to bill every month instead of once, you set that on the package itself when you build the deal, and the client can cancel it from their own link.

Prices are a starting point in Australian dollars. Change the figures, the inclusions and the number of packages to suit what you sell.

The starting terms

What approving the page records

These sit above the approve button. The client reads them, and approving records that they accepted them.

These terms cover the package you approve on this page.

  • Scope. The deliverables, the number of concepts and the revision rounds are those described above.
  • Payment. The deposit shown on this page is paid on approval and the balance before final files are released. The deposit is not refunded once work has started, because it covers time already set aside.
  • Concepts and revisions. Concepts are initial directions. Revisions are changes to the direction you choose, and a round is one consolidated set of feedback rather than one edit. Rounds beyond those included are quoted before they are done.
  • Files. You receive the final artwork in the formats listed above. Working or source files are not included and can be quoted separately.
  • Ownership and use. Copyright passes to you for the deliverables once the balance is paid, for the uses described above. Unused concepts, drafts and source files stay mine.
  • Your part. Content, assets and feedback come from you. Time lost waiting moves the delivery date.
  • Cancellation. If you cancel, you are charged for the work completed to that point and the deposit is applied to it.

Approving this page records that you accepted this scope, this price and these terms.

Starting terms, not legal advice. Read them, change what does not match how you work, and have a lawyer look at them if the work is large enough to warrant it. Your own default terms in Settings replace these automatically.

Before you send it

What to change first

The parts of this template most likely to be wrong for you.

  • What counts as a screen, since states and breakpoints multiply it quickly
  • Whether the prototype is clickable or a static flow, which clients hear differently
  • Developer handoff, and how much of your time answering questions is included
  • Who owns the research if the engagement stops after the first tier
